A student under the age of 12 will not be permitted to disembark from the school bus unless an adult is clearly visible to the bus driver and known to be present at such time to take custody of such student. In the event that there is no such adult present, P.A.C.E. has instructed Stock Transportation to keep the student on the bus and upon completing the route, the bus driver shall transport the student to the nearest police station, whereupon the studentโs parents will be contacted. BUSING CODE OF BEHAVIOUR The driver is responsible for the safety and conduct of the students on the bus. As such he/she is to be obeyed and treated with respect. Always board the bus quietly and once seated, do not change seats. Stay in your seat at all times. Remain seated, facing forward, until you have reached your destination. Do not leave the bus while waiting for other students to get on or off. Wait until the bus has come to a complete stop before getting out of your seat to get off the bus. Talk quietly with your neighbour; do not speak above a whisper. Be kind and respectful to others and their belongings. No unruly behaviour (e.g. shouting, horse-play, rude language, pushing, throwing things, etc.). Eating and drinking (including gum) are not permitted on the bus unless permission is given by the driver. No opening windows or putting arms, head, feet, etc. out of the window. Large and heavy objects must be placed under the seat. DISCIPLINARY ACTION If a formal complaint is lodged regarding a studentโs inappropriate conduct, the following action may be taken: First offense: Student will discuss bus safety with a member of the P.A.C.E. administration. Second offense: A member of the P.A.C.E. administration will meet with the student for a second time and follow-up with a phone call to the studentโs parents. Third offense: Student will lose their bus privilege for one day. The student, his/her parents and a member of the P.A.C.E. administration will meet to discuss the studentโs future transportation.
